The JG Institute fo Foreign studies (JGIFS) signed Seneca college, Toronto, Canada to offer students career-oriented programmes I a variety of fields. Said john Geevarghese chairman of the Asia charitable Trust that launched JGIFS, This is a first of its kind joint venture in Gujarat where students can pursue foreign education in Ahmedabad without spending too much money and time abroad.”

Frederick c.Miner, president of seneca said that the programme was designed in such a way that it would “ provide a unique college and university to students.”

With more than 100,000 full and pat-time students and more than 260 programs Seneca is one of canada’s largest post-graduate and under-graduate level institutions said miner. JGIFS, in partnership with Seneca college, will offer post-graduate diplomas in a selection of subjects like international business management, fashion business, tourism and flight services.Three semesters will have to be completed in India with the remaining one semester to be done in Canada.

Recognised all over the world , these vocational degrees will help students access industry in the ‘ready tio work ‘mode.

In another tie-up, Seneca college Frameboxx animation and visual Effects, Mumbai announced an agreement to jointly offer Graduate certificate Programmes in Animation, Visual Effects and Gaming in India.
Seneca’s Animation Arts centre located in Toronto, is internationally known for its leading edge training in 3D Animation, Gaming and Visual Effects.” This agreement will provide students from India with the opportunity to receive internationally recognized training in animation, visual effects and gaming,” said Mohammed Khan, vice –president International andsiness Development, Seneca college.

Scheduled to begin in January 2009, the new initiative will offer spaces for a maximum of 25 students. The first semester will be completed in India and will cover a wide range of courses. Eligible students will then have the opportunity to complete the second semester at Seneca and get a globally recognized certification at the end of their study programme.
