In memory of the playwright, Vijay Tendulkar, the English Department of Stella Maris College conducted an inter-collegiate seminar for Postgraduate students on 1st September. Vijay Tendulkar was one of the pillars of Indian theatrical scene who depicted the strikingly harsh realities of life and mesmerised countless theatre enthusiasts for over six decades. He died on May 19, 2008.

Apart from helping the students to find out how to explore the text, he chose passages from not just Vijay Tendulkar's plays for also other masterpieces such as Richard II and made the students enact them out on the spot. He shed a great deal of light on the pulls and pushes of most of the characters of Vijay Tendulkar.

After an exhilarating session of Hans Kaushik's spectacular acts, the students prepared themselves for the paper presentations on different aspects of Tendulkar's plays. The Programme concluded with a reading of the last scene of Tendulkar's most cherished satire, "Silence! The Court is in Session" by the PG students of Stella Maris College.
